AbiliT Senior Living, LLC acquires Char-Mac Senior Living

AbiliT Senior Living, a National Senior Living provider with existing communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin has acquired the Char-Mac Senior Living Portfolio in Iowa. The Char-Mac portfolio includes senior living campuses in Manning, Lawton, and two in Holstein. Char-Mac owners, Stan and Jeanine Chartier, have proudly developed these beautiful facilities and provided exceptional care to the communities. Owner Jeanine Chartier states, “Bringing quality care to our rural communities has been such a joy for us to perform. It has been so personally rewarding to have served each and every one of our past and current tenants. We are excited to retire and hand the reins to a new company with exciting new ideas.”

AbiliT’s partner, Oxford Management located in Rochester, MN, will be the management company for these communities. This acquisition further expands AbiliT Senior Living’s presence in the Midwest.  “This acquisition allows our team to expand our affordable housing, high quality services and community based care,” said Mark Dickson, President and CEO of Oxford Management

Oxford Management Hires CFO Kerry Watson

Before joining Oxford, Kerry Watson held several finance leadership roles at Dell, YUM Brands, Oshkosh, and Primary Children’s Medical Center. He consulted as CFO of a multifamily company that aggressively expanded the portfolio by 12 assets over the course of 3 years. He has an MBA degree and an Accounting degree from Brigham Young University.

AbiliT Senior Living, a National Senior Living provider with existing communities in Southeastern Minnesota has acquired the Milestone Senior Living Portfolio. The Milestone portfolio includes senior living campuses in Cross Plains, Eagle River, Eau Claire, Hillsboro, Rhinelander, Stoughton, Tomahawk, Woodruff, in Wisconsin and one campus in Faribault, Minnesota.  AbiliT’s management partner, Oxford Management, will be the management company for these communities.

Riverfront plans get first look from Rochester’s Destination Medical Center board

ROCHESTER – A first look at a proposed $200 million riverfront project cheered the Destination Medical Center Corp. board at its monthly meeting on Thursday, even as some members expressed frustration with the pace of transportation planning in Rochester.

The proposed project, a hotel/condo/retail complex, would sit on the banks of the Zumbro River, which, despite passing near the heart of the city, is largely inaccessible thanks to a 1990s-era flood-control project. The concept calls for tying downtown into the riverfront with a shallow splash pool, fountain, water wall, outdoor restaurant with seating overlooking the river and a possible kayak launch.

“This is a home run,” said DMC board member and former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, adding that the project from Bloom Holding, an Abu Dhabi-based developer, would accomplish a lot.

DMC Corp. board of directors meeting highlights downtown development

Downtown development received top billing at the most recent meeting of the Destination Medical Center (DMC) Corporation Board of Directors.

Abu Dhabi-based Bloom Properties gave an update on a mixed-use project that will be anchored in the Downtown Waterfront sub-district. The $180-200 million project will include residential, hospitality, and retail space, as well as space for outdoor concerts and ice skating.

Board member and former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak called the proposal “a home run,” saying it meets a lot of the DMC’s goals for housing, retail, and community spaces…
